Currently on holiday in North Wales and it’s pouring with rain. I’m only not bothered by it as we’re going to France in 2 weeks time where it will generally be hot and sunny. Yesterday was lovely but today reinforces why I could never have my main holiday in the UK. I have looked at holidays in Cornwall in the past but so expensive compared to abroad. I don’t want to spend all that money and potentially have bad weather.

Currently in the Dordogne the weather has been gorgeous 35 degrees. I love weekends away in the UK in any weather but my main holiday has to be in the sunshine otherwise I feel cheated

I'm known as the rain maker when we try a UK holiday. Every time and I mean every time we go away in the UK anywhere overnight it rains , and pours. But if my partner and her daughter go away it's lovely weather. I'm banned from there UK trips now.

I don't want to curse it but we usually drop lucky with the weather in Norfolk.

We love our UK holidays in our own touring caravan. We can take our dogs which is a big bonus to us. Sun is nice (and we have been very lucky in the past) but we still have a lovely time in the pouring rain.

There's something about wearing shorts and sandals along with jumper and kagoule whilst eating ice-cream that makes me all nostalgic about childhood summers!
(Not 1976 though, that was HOT and I knew nothing of sun cream as my mum just put a bit of Nivea on the sunburn.) |

Normally I would not want to have my main holiday in the UK. I seem to always travel the week that good weather breaks
I have to say there are some beautiful places here and if I could rely on the weather I would be more than happy to stay here more and for longer periods. |

I’m not really a huge fan of the sun or hot weather in the uk. I prefer our autumn and winter over our summer and the longer we can go through summer without too many nice days the better for me.
We went to Whitby one March and we loved it. It was jackets weather and it didn’t rain while we were there, although I wouldn’t have minded if it had as I like the rain, even when I’m out in it. Yes I know we are in the minority, but the less people that holiday in the uk, the quieter it is for us so I won’t try to convert anyone. |
