Treasure Island / St Johns Pass

Was considering doing Clearwater again this year - seascreamer and a night in a hotel... Never heard of this place till I saw someone mentioned it on another forum. Anyone been? Worth going? From the pictures it looks lovely and would it be worth staying over for the night? And if so where?
We have done Clearwater twice already

Thanks

We went to Johns Pass last year and will be going again this year. It is a boardwalk with large selection of shops and eating places but what we loved most was watching the Dolphins in the bay. There were loads of them. Also fishing boats come in and while the fishermen prepare the fish right there at the bay, they throw the scraps to the many pelicans... we really enjoyed watching them.

Yes I would recommend the area, also visit Dundin and Tarpon Springs, beautiful location along the gulf coast.

A few years ago, we stayed just down the coast at Indian Shores.

We spent lots of time at Johns Pass - a lovely place to have a stroll and something to eat. We also went on a boat trip from there and DH and DS hired a jet ski.

We stayed in Treasure Island a few years ago for 4 nights, absolutely fell in love with the place. Also visited St. Johns Pass, a good place for eating and a bit of shopping (smaller type stores).

Recommended from me.

We thought St Johns Pass was a bit naff and expensive to park but great for watching dolphins, Treasure Island has a huge beach but not much else, other opinions are available of course.

We stayed in an apartment right on the beach at Treasure Island for the weekend. Loved it, sat on the beach and watched the sun set, it was stunning. We walked a couple of miles along the beach to St. Johns Pass, had lunch, looked round the little shops, and walked back along the beach later in the evening after having dinner.
It was a nice restful weekend, and topped off by seeing dolphins swimming in the sea from our balcony.

We stayed at St Pete beach last year, but went up to Johns Pass for a meal one evening and a wander around the shops. It seemed really lovely and we would like to return. We saw dolphins from the boardwalk/walkway area behind the shops, it was the highlight of our holiday.

In June we stayed one night in a bungalow at the top end of Treasure Island, the area was quieter and older looking. We were just across the road from lovely golden beach, and within easy walking distance of Johns Pass going over the lift bridge. There are some lovely restaurants in Johns Pass where you can watch the boats coming and going. I can recommend the fresh grouper sandwich, delicious!
