I would complain too! That’s a couple of folk who have been advised that they can order from the kid’s menu. Let’s hope that’s filters down

In May 2019 we were able to use ad adult credit for a child’s meal, but this seems to have changed in practice (at least at some restaurants) from recent reports.

Really irritating when you have an 11yo who only eats very simple food and small portions. My DS doesn’t like most of the adults menu items in lots of restaurants. I’d be really annoyed having to pay OOP for a kid’s meal, having been forced to pay adults DDP for him despite being only 11

I was also told this when upgrading. I'll not be happy if this isn't the case.

Disney mom's panel Q&As still answers that adult credits can be used for child meals.

That answer is from 2017 though so prior to the recent change

That’s just daft! I get not using a child credit for an adult meal but what’s the harm to Disney if you spend the cost of an adult credit on a child meal, for them that’s a win win!

Just got off the phone with WDW upgrading my 9yr old to the adult qsdp (we have free dining, upgrade cost £20 - essentially moving her from a child 14 day park ticket to an adult 14 day park ticket). The cast member I spoke to was clear that she can't now eat off the children's menu using the qsdp credits at all. We would need to pay oop if we chose to order a child's meal.
Does seem totally crazy as its in WDW interest to allow this as essentially choosing a cheaper meal using an adult credit, but I guess perhaps their systems at the till can't manage it?
Its also a bit annoying as there will definitely be times when the child's meal will suit her better, and the portion size too - but overall I'd rather she has the wider choice on adult plan for minimal extra cost.

The rules haven't changed, only the fact that they can differentiate between adult and child credits.

Wow, that’s really annoying. Can’t get the logic in that at all!

It is annoying! My daughter (10) will likely want a child meal every now and then - which we would have to pay out of pocket for, only to be left with QS adult credits... It just doesn't make sense!
