I’d love to be able to use my local milkman, but they’re just far too expensive here.

I get 2 x 4pt bottles a week, one for home and one for work. It’s about £1.10 from Asda, and that’s less than my milkman charged for 1 pint. Plus I work shifts, so some days I leave for work at 4am and it would be out on the step until 6.30pm.

It would be great to be able to reduce my plastic by going back to glass bottles, I just can’t justify the expense

We have our local farm offering milk delivery. we leave early in the morning for work so would not like my milk left on the doorstep all day .. If I was at home all day I would be tempted as I know it will help our local farmer and I would be willing to pay more for . I can see their cows from our house 😀

I remember it well but with horror!

1959 being forced to drink the milk in School that was warm from the Summer heat. That was the last time in my life I drunk the stuff.

I am the same except I used to force it down me when I was pregnant - with strawberry flavoured powder to try and disguise it. I have never drunk it since my second son was born.

I don’t know if it was a local thing but the co-op delivered by horse and cart all over Edinburgh. They had stables right in the city centre.

Sean Connery was a milkman here in his youth!

We have literally just started a milk & more milk delivery. We get 1 pint a week (we only drink in tea - have soya milk on everything else). Seems good so far, 30p per week more expensive than supermarkets but convenient and in glass bottles.

We have been getting milk delivered for a few years now. The glass bottles are ridiculously expensive but I prefer reusable bottles to the piles of plastic.
