BA refund sorted; staff very helpful
After less than 10mins (total) managed to get through to the team to process my cancellation/refund. Had to be put on hold and transferred to another team as we were a package (flights and 3 hotels) but all sorted with no hassle or them trying to push a voucher and staff were helpful and friendly.
Now can wait and look forward to next years deals to come up. Should get cash in 21 days. |

I know they’re saying 21 days as standard, but when I cancelled flights last month I got the amount back on my card within 10.

After a rocky start with refunds, (it took weeks for someone to even talk to us), BA have done really well. Once they did issue a refund the money arrived back in our account within a week.

They were great with us. I requested on 14 March for our flights commencing 28 March that had obviously been cancelled.
I got my money back on my card 23 March. Fantastic service BA and I will remember that going into the future. I am well aware of the other airlines (Air France, KLM and Air Canada) and particularly linked travel companies (Virgin and TUI) , that have broken the law relating to refunds. I will also remember them going into the future. I hope that they are prosecuted and will not be using them ... unless they are cheapest by a considerable margin. (I will sell any moral principle if the price is right). Image and reputation is very important to these companies as they sell their extremely expensive products. They need you to trust them. Whilst some have shown why they enjoy a good reputation, others have demonstrated why they are totally unworthy of trust. The way to hurt these operators is to remember them and wherever practicable, not use them in the future.

It has been really interesting to see how different companies have behaved...…
BA - Another well done for BA - two trips cancelled, waited less than 5 minutes to speak to someone, no-one pushed vouchers and refunds were back in the account within 3 days. Zota Beach Resort (Longboat Key) - booked a non-cancellable, non-refundable stay for 3 nights. Spoke to a very pleasant manager at the front desk, no problem, refunding our balance and hope to see us again... Hotels.com - used £200 of Tesco vouchers towards my HRH night stay, refunded the cash element but "nothing to do with them" on the vouchers, despite the fact that they had already obtained a payment from Tesco (Tesco now dealing... ) And by far the worst... Disney (Paris) - 11 weeks, countless phone calls, refund is coming in 3 separate parts, took down facebook posts that didn't paint them in a good light (nothing offensive - shame they don't spend as much time on customers as their facebook reputation), bulk of the refund took 8 weeks to "process", they now claim to have refunded the 3rd tranche 3 weeks ago, but nothing yet on my CC...….shame on you, Mickey !

I’ve had similar with BA. Very prompt and despite being advised it might take 14-21 days for refund to appear it was in my account on the same day.

It’s good to see positive posts about airlines/travel companies.

I was also told 3 weeks for my seat selection refund, but had it in a couple of days. Couldn't fault them.
