Travel Insurance - how long can you stay away

Just updated our insurance with our bank. Interested we can stay away 62 days, how long can you stay away with your travel insurance?

Mine used to be 90 days, not checked it recently.

If you are staying away more than 30 days you will also need to sort out your house insurance at home. Most only allow you to be away for 30 days.

I've had some that limited to 31 days, and when we worked abroad our travel insurance covered us (so long as we kept up the premiums) as long as we visited the UK at least once every 2 years (that one was a bit expensive but work paid)

It all depends who you go with - the normal seems to be between 30-45 days; which right now is 30-45 days too many as we can't go anywhere anyway

31 days for ours. But it's not expensive to upgrade to stay longer.

Strictly true, but an easy "work-around"

All it requires is for a family/friend to attend the house and check on it at least once in each 30 days and the counter resets to zero again.

Suggest you get them to video a part of the visit, maybe turning on the TV to show the "guide" with the date and time to prove they were there if you want to be squeaky clean

My Son has to call in every day to feed his fish!

He moved out for 7 years, came back for 2 years and has been gone again for 2+ years and we still have the darn things!

We are 60 days
We always have a house or dog sitters when we are away as well so insurance is not an issue

I wouldn't like to be trying to argue this with an insurance company. I am not sure "checking" is counted as not being away.

My sister is in insurance and will ask her if this works.

Ours is 60 days. Not that I would ever have much hope of being away for 60 days at a time but I never even thought about the home insurance end of it. I will have to sort something out for when I win the lottery
