Love on the spectrum...

I'm enjoying watching this, as I think it's reasonably educational bwith regards to adults who are autistic.

I'm interested in what others on who are autistic or have autism within the family feel about it. Part of me feels a little uncomfortable as it seems voyeuristic... not uncomfortable because they have autism, just should one be entertained by disability? If entertainment is the right word.. not expressing myself very well

I enjoyed season 1, but it did lean a little bit too much into the stereotypes for my tastes. Listing out special interests and aversions for every person for example. They weren't relevant to the story at all, all it was doing was highlight why they were "weird" rather than educating about the other sides of autism.

Haven't watched season 2 yet.

DD worked with Downs adults.

I would describe them as the most loving, lovely people on the planet. Their syndrome makes them different, and whilst I cannot speak about autism, it is this difference that sets them apart from ‘normal society’ with its enshrined bigotry and prejudices.

It makes me wonder if the people who really have a disability are those categorised as ‘normal’.

I will search out the series to which you refer.

Take care

I think the basic premise of this show is that love is everywhere and universal. Good to see the extra challenges faced by those on the spectrum.
