I'm due to fly out on the 10th November 2021 from LHR and the flight is showing as being on an A330-200 I wonder if the plane will change if they have retired some already.

For what it’s worth…. It seems that Virgin have updated their schedules up to March 2022 and the aircraft type now seems to be A330-300 for MAN-MCO route.

Still A330-200 showing from April onwards.

We are May so I'll be checking daily to make sure we don't get scattered around the plane 😂

Do you think it might be planes with a bigger capacity from April onwards as we go into peak season? I imagine the a300s offer less capacity than used to be available on this route.

It would make sense to me but who knows? Just checked our April flights and we are still on the A330-200... for now😁

I’m checking regularly as our party all have separate booking numbers so we could be put anywhere if they change the seating plan

The A332 and A333 offer a capacity of approx 260-270 pax. With the A333 less E (185) and more PE (48) and UC (31) compared with the A332 at E (212), PE (35/36) and UC (19).

I guess this is not likely the preferred layout for a MAN-MCO route, and changing planes doesn’t provide any increase in capacity.

However, the A350 leisure config will take this up to approx 400 pax with only 16 UC seats and heavily weighted to E.

The 747s had a capacity of approx 450 pax with only 14 UC seats.

Hopefully demand will pick up for the summer months (albeit not at current prices) and we may see an A350 on this route by May. Fingers crossed anyway…

I think the change in aircraft type is likely that we won’t see the A332s flying much when the borders open.

Now to keep an eye on the schedules to make sure I can get preferred seats on the A333. Really would need the bassinet seat.
