Fly out of Heathrow and back to Gatwick - Car parking
August 2022 - 2 adults 2 teens
Currently I have parking at Gatwick booked with Maple parking and then plan to bus it back to our Heathrow hotel. I would rather avoid this and I am happy to pay for a service that means I don't need to leave the others at Heathrow while driving to Gatwick and busing it back. Anyone know of any alternatives? EDIT I have managed to sort Maple Parking allows you to drop off at one airport and pick up from another if you book early enough. For anyone interested this cost me £100 extra. Expensive I know but saved me about three hours away from my family and the stress involved. Edited at 08:10 PM. |

I would leave the others at the Prem Inn, Bath Road. It is a nice Hotel with a very large atrium, a bar, a restaurant etc and the people watching is awesome as many flight crew stay there.
Out the back is a large carpark that backs on to great views of aircraft coming in and out. As for getting back from Gatwick, I believe that there is a coach into the transportation centre (never tried it). From there, you can get a free Red Bus that goes right past the Premier Inn. Obviously 1 ticket on the bus is a massive saving on 4 tickets for the bus.

Depending how far away you are from both airports, would taxis be an option instead of driving and parking? That way you're not having to go to Gatwick before your outbound flight, can just go straight to Heathrow.
Otherwise leaving them at Heathrow while you do the run over to Gatwick for the car really is your best option. You could use a transfer service (BA Transfer, Uber, etc) instead of the bus if it's mainly public transport that you're trying to avoid. Edited at 11:02 AM. |

The plan is to leave the others at the hotel. suppose I was wondering if there is a service that will pick my car up from Heathrow airport and take it to parking at Gatwick. This would save lots of hassle, stress and time.

If it were me, I would drop off at Heathrow PI, take the car to LGW then get a train into town and onto Heathrow, whilst reading a good book.

Have you got a Dash Cam? If so play it back afterwards. Hilarious to listen to some of the drivers attempt at singing.
Also you can check where the car has been. I have always been impressed with their secure facilities.
