I’m now wondering the logistics of this.
I’m a Scottish resident, who is driving from scotland to Manchester for a direct flight to Orlando. My thoughts were that I’d be regarded under the English rules and not Scots as the ‘official’ and ‘communal’ travelling part ends in Manchester when I get into my car? Will be investigating. |

Logic would suggest that it is the requirement of the final destination as you need to put the order number on the PLF.
If checked for any reason and not the correct test this could cause problems.

I believe you need English rules when you arrive in England and then Scotland/Wales/NI rules when you arrive there. If you transit through England your PCR would still be needed for arrival at your final destination. Yes you can ignore (and I probably would) and likely be ok with it but if you want to follow your countries rules then it's PCR.
A colleague is in Liverpool currently, lives in Scotland. Scotland T&T have contacted as a close contact. If he remains in England he can carry on as normal (double jabbed) but the minute he returns to Scotland he has to isolate for the remainder of his 10 days. |

My flight in January is EDI - LHR - MCO and the reverse on return. I fully expect to have to show my PLF at LHR but not at EDI as I will be arriving as a domestic passenger.

You have to show it before you leave the US and it asks for your final destination address hence following the rules for that country

I’ve phoned up NHS direct in scotland.
With the example I gave of my final leg of my flight ending in England, but us driving back to scotland, they’ve confirmed I would follow English covid regulations |

From the gov.uk website, though its not clear but if you are doing MCO -LHR-EDI for example then as this is transiting airside.
But it isn't that clear if driving from England to Scotland or Wales Travelling on within the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man If you will be travelling on to Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Island or the Isle of Man, you must follow the rules for testing and quarantine in those places. gov.uk/guidance/coronavi...ival-in-the-uk

No one will bother ordering a PCR test if they arrive in England first. No one will even bother checking at the border as long as you have a reference number on you PLF. The Scottish Government knows this and they cannot stop it.
