Cancellation/rearrangement insurance

On the off chance things go in our favour today (children single vaccine) starting to think about what else I need to do…
Insurance!
I was thinking, say one of us contracts Covid just before we go/ or we test positive in pre departure tests and we have to cancel or any other number of reasons we need to cancel/curtail etc…my recently appointed new insurance co is saying they wouldn’t cover cancellation because our trip, although booked pre pandemic, has been amended (extra day) when we have rolled it forward.
Their words:
“This exclusions applies if the regulation preventing entry is in place at the time of booking a trip or when subsequent amendments are made to the original trip.
So at the time you amended your booking if there were any restrictions in place or the borders were shut you would not be able to claim under the cancellation within the policy.”
Is it only Staysure who are covering all of this ?

Hi, I called my insurance and they told me if 1 of our family had Covid at the time we should be flying the whole group (6 of us) could claim for all expenses as we would not want to travel.
