Premier Inn Rungar Lane South
Hi,
We have booked to return to our happy place next July. This year we stayed at the Radisson Blu the night before the flight, but in all honesty we felt it was not worth the cost to return back again next year. Instead we have booked the Premier Inn, Rungar Lane South, but this morning I have read a few reviews and to be totally honest they do not make great reading. People complaining about poor staff, poor quality of food. Running out of breakfast and staff reluctant to replenish items. Just wondering if any fellow Dibbers have had any recent experiences at the above hotel and either confirm or deny the reviews Many Thanks |

My colleague has stayed in both and recommended either to me - I’m about to book, for £29 for a room the night before we fly, I can’t see it’ll be that bad- we’ll have to be at the airport at 6, so we will eat there

We've paid in advance. £38.50 but after reading the reviews I am seriously considering changing and taking the hit on the money. We are on the 11:10 flight and will want something at the hotel before leaving. Not going to pay for breakfast and then have a very limited choice. Plus the reviews I've read are saying the rooms are tired and beds uncomfortable.

I’ve just had a look on trip advisor (which can be unfairly brutal) and am not overly worried, but each to their own - I’ve found if you want something else to eat (u less it’s like 15 mins before breakfast is due to end), they’ll make you something

We stayed in Runger Lane this year with no issues whatsoever. The rooms were fine and very quiet for a busy airport hotel. We didn’t have breakfast but I have always had excellent PI breakfasts at other PI hotels I do take reviews with a pinch of salt. People quite often only leave a review when they are complaining (and some people are professional complainers). Most people who have an uneventful stay will never leave a review.

We usually always stay in The Radisson,in May though we stayed 2 nights in Premier Inn North, just across the road from the South one,we were really impressed, the staff were lovely, food was good,I can't see the South being so much different. But North gets a big thumbs up from me.

Raddison was our usual choice but prices got silly when needing two rooms, and frankly for a few hours sleep not worth it imho.
We stopped to PI North a couple of year ago and have no complaints. It does exactly was it says on the tin. Evening meals ok , only had breakfast once as we usually away early and eat in Airport. We got bargain price on flexi rate for this year £26 each room. |

We have stayed in both hotels, many times, never had any cause to complain... apart from the self check-in, much prefer a person!
Staying at Holiday Inn Express at Christmas, it’s on the other side of the car park to North and South, that’s a decent hotel as well. Booked it with Tesco Clubcard vouchers, so a freebie. Maybe worth a look |
