Cali Grill brunch - later ADRs

It was our first ADR day today, and we weren’t able to get a table for 4 at Cali Grill (186 days out). We have booked two tables for 2 instead, so we’ll all be there at the same time, just not at the same table. Obviously, we’d rather sit together, so we’re keeping an eye out for cancellations.

Our current time is 10:20am, but we’re wondering what to do if another slot does come up for later on. Would you take any available time just to be sat together?

Is it still worth booking 1pm, for example, or is it likely that they’ll be starting to pack up around you and the food won’t be as fresh or as plentiful? Is there a particular cut-off time that you wouldn’t want to arrive after?

When we went to Cali Grill we had a 12.30 slot for the brunch. It was great. 2e wanted to have a lie in and not have to get to the hotel in a rush. In the end we checked in about 20 minutes early. But we did have to wait in the lounge area for our table. There was still a good atmosphere in the restaurant, with plenty of full tables. The buffet was great. I didn't feel like it started to dwindle or be less plentiful. I would happily go for a later slot again as it was nice and relaxed. We really enjoyed it.

That’s good to know; we’ll definitely consider any time that comes up for a table for 4 then.

I’d actually prefer a later slot anyway, as DH has booked an 8am BOG breakfast that morning, which is ridiculous with a 10:20am brunch also booked! He says we’d just have a quick drink and snack for the sake of early entrance, jump on SDMT, then head over to Cali Grill. I think that’s a mad idea, and I will be cancelling BOG if we keep our 10:20 slot at Cali Grill.

But, I’m letting him keep it for now, thinking that it would be a more reasonable plan with 8am QS breakfast followed by 12:30-1pm brunch. We’ll see what comes up...

I had a 10am booking last time and it was great. We were the first people to go up and all the waiters were standing by the lifts with guests names at the ready. It seemed a lot more hectic and less special for arriving guests we observed when we were leaving. I have booked 10am again for April.

That said, whilst I think your current time is perfect, I think I would prioritise the certainty of getting a table together over time.
