Experiences of 'budget' Disney hotels

Can you kind people please share your experiences of the budget disney hotels?

As a family, we have stayed in AKL and when I went with work ive stayed at the yacht club and coronado springs.

Are the rooms ok? What are the pools like?

It will be for 2adults a 11 year old and 7 year old. Are the rooms big enough for that?

Its probably going to be for the first week.

As 2 adults we have stayed at POR and all star sport, the rooms at all star were fine, not much different from POR. The pool was nice (1 main and 1 quieter pool) and really the only difference we found that bothered us was the lack of a lounge bar. At POR you have comfy seats and a dedicated bar, at all stars it is just the pool bar with some high stools and then the food court or outdoor seating. We prefer POR and have booked it for 2020 but would never rule out staying at a value

We have stayed at Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, Old Key West, Boardwalk and All Star Movies and guess which one my DS loves the most?

He always asks to go back to All Stars lol🤣 He loves the pool and the food court. The room was good too👍 We did it as part of a split stay.

We always stay in one of the All Stars the first night to save our DVC Points.
We find them fine, theming is in your face but nothing wrong with that. Quite funny actually.

If the price was right and we didn't own DVC we would stay there no problem.

A bit tight for a family of 4 but still achievable.

I’ve stayed at POP only for 1 night as my flight was cancelled and it was great. Not sure I would have chosen to stay here but we needed a cheap overnight stay and I wouldn’t hesitate now to stay here. The refurb rooms are great and tbh the new pull down bed is much comfier than the deluxe sofa bed. The food court was great aswell. Didn’t use the pool as wasn’t there long enough
It’s Disney you will have a great stay and ur not in ur room long anyway

I always think the differences between Value, Moderate and Deluxe are actually not the rooms but more the facilities

Value
- No hot tubs
- Some have shared bus service usually less frequent (All Stars especially)
- No sit down restaurant

Moderate
- Hot tub
- More frequent bus service and less likely to be shared with other resorts
- Usually a sit down and a counter service restaurant

Deluxe
- Better location to parks
- More frequent bus services or other transport options to parks
- Sit down, bar and counter service usually although all will have a pool bar
- Club level available (although also available at one Moderate-Coronado Springs)

Room wise there is very little difference in all three levels apart from theming

Oh and I've stayed at
Value
- All Star Movies
- All Star Music
- Pop Century (fave value as bus route seems better/less busy)

Moderate
- Coronado Springs
- Port Orleans Riverside (fave due to the theming and location - boat to Disney Springs)
- Port Orleans French Quarter

Deluxe
Grand Floridian
Polynesian
Yacht Club (fave due to location as EPCOT is fave park)
Beach Club
Boardwalk

If money was no object then I probably would choose Yacht club but if I want a budget trip I'd def choose Pop as loved this too.
