I just wanted to thank the OP for posting this thread which I first read at the time it was posted.

DH & my Aunt picked up Dads ashes earlier & they were expecting the large plastic sweet jar type of urn with them in.

DH just rang me & said he was in a bag, in a box.

So thanks to this thread it wasn't a shock to hear.

We are laying him to rest in a big pot my Aunt has in her garden & will grow flowers on the top. If she decides to move he can go with her.

Dad died on the 12 Dec after a 7 year battle with Alzheimer's & Vascular Dementia.

What with family being away over xmas and then a doc beggering up the first medical cert his funeral ended up on the 17th Jan.
Its been a long surreal time

We will finally put him in his resting place on Sunday x

When my farther died, we all went into the office of the funeral director.
They had a good number of urns to choose from, we just picked one that we could keep at home. When the time comes we will put my mother’s ashes with his and scatter them.
At the moment my mum keeps him in the wardrobe! But I’m sure he would have rather been kept in the shed!
