Electrician being tested
We had an Electrician out a few weeks ago to do some work.
He emailed last week to say he was having an assessment and could he and the assessor come back to show him his work... We agreed as he was a nice man although it is slightly inconvenient that hubby has had to arrange to work from home. I've just not heard of that before. Wondered if anyone has had a similar visit?

We got warned that this could be a possibility when we had our electrics done . In the end an assessor didn't come.

We had this when we had our boiler fitted by our next door neighbour, he needed his work to be assessed and asked if he could use us as we are neighbours so I think he felt more comfortable. Although this was for gas obviously not electrics!

I'm glad it has happened before. I was suddenly wondering if it was odd.
Hopefully he will pass his assessment tomorrow.

We've had this with electrics when we had our kitchen done and also when our smart meter was fitted. Both in our old house, however we are having so much done here that I am expecting to have at least one visit from an assessor for something!

All registered electricians have to be assessed yearly, which is frankly ridiculous and completely unnecessary.
I've had difficulty finding customers to allow me to be assessed at their house because its inconvenient to most people and requires their power turning off which isn't ideal if people are working from home. |

We had our plumber come round to ours with an assessor after he'd fitted a new central heating system for us a few years ago. Didn't take them long, and we didn't mind as we've known our plumber for a long time.

our electrician asked us if we'd be happy for an assessor to come round after he did a load of work for us. We agreed (hubby generally works from home so not really inconvenient anyway) but in the end the assessor didn't come.
