Driving Licence for Hire Car - alamo

I've just got a photo licence too, very easy process by the way, as my old paper licence was in about 8 different bits! Only changed as I want to do Alamo save time & you need the new style to do this. Now after having a free licence for life I have to pay £20 for the privilege every 10 years - rip off.

Why do you need the new style to do Alamo save time? I managed ok with my old paper one.

Didnt know they had to change in 2015 just another ploy by those money grabbing so and so's.

This amused me as my DH's old style licence is more selotape tape than paper and is very fragile and he never has a problem with handing over at the car hire desk - he just asks them to handle it carefully.

For once I trusted the wise, but possibly wrong, words of the DIBB. One of the many threads on save time said you couldn't use your old paper to do the save time online. So I bit the bullet and went modern. Not sure the old paper one could have stood to be unfolded one last time without disintegrating1

Just for reference, no problem doing save time etc with old paper license.

At least your new one will be easier to look after though!
