Need a Glasgow hotel - advice please?

Going to a wedding in Ardrossan (at the Lauriston Hotel if anyone knows it). But the hotel is full.

We'll be travelling on the Friday morning from London either by train or plane, so changing at Glasgow. It occurred to us we could stay in Glasgow and just get a train to Ardrossan on the day.

Any ideas for budget-friendly hotels?

Z hotel is normally reasonable. The rooms are compact but well designed and will be fine for 1 night. You get a glass of wine and cheese and snacks between 5-8 pm too!

Another option is Hampton by Hilton. That'll probably be more expensive but the rooms are bigger and the breakfast is good. Personally I prefer z hotel tho.

Central hotel, located right in central station so very handy for the train have deals sometimes.
Or have you thought about the seamill hydro? It's just up the coast from Ardrossan, 10 -15 minute taxi ride from the Lauriston.

If your wedding is in Ardrossan have you looked at the hotels in Seamill/West Kilbride as they are just down the road, The Seamill Hydro is a lovely hotel and also the Waterside Inn

We have stayed in the Seamill Hydro, it was lovely and I thought the food in the restaurant was excellent, and on a nice day the views would be amazing.
We also used the train for in/out to Glasgow, as we were at Adele concert in the Hydro (but already had weekend at Seamill booked), last train was before midnight.

In Centre of Glasgow, we have stayed in many of the hotels - Premier Inn at Buchanan Street or Pacific Quay are good PI's, stayed at Hilton Garden Inn at Hydro last week, week before at IVillage hotel at Pacific Quay, Fraser Suites are lovely central apartments whhich can be same price as hotel rooms - lot's of choices.

Those both look lovely but way out of our budget, and no availability for that weekend in July.

Thanks though - worth considering if we ever have the money.
