We don't have MDE labels - they don't send them to UK-
2 questions

1. Where is the carousel to return our luggage to ?

2. Does the system work for UK passengers - how do MDE identify our luggage ?

Yes I know - that was 3 questions but hey

Any advice would be gratefully accepted

As said earlier in the thread, you're better off getting your luggage and taking it with you as it can take up to 4 hours for luggage to be delivered. It's very easy to take it, the driver loads it on and off the coach, then get bell services to take you to your room. That way you're not waiting, or even asleep when it arrives.

I guess that's one option - just didn't want to drag our luggage onto the train - off the train then we have to go to VH desk on A Side level 1 to pickup "complimentary" Disney dollars and then head up and over to B side to get to the DME - anyone else done that?- is it much of a trek as we will 4 largish bags with us - plus carry-ons as we are going straight onto the Cruise after our 8 days at WDW

You don't have to drag your bags on the train. You can pick them up in the main terminal.

Or

Take your bags on the train and have someone wait with them while one if you goes and gets the stuff from Virgin.

Yes, I've done exactly that. We don't find taking cases with us to be a problem but didn't want to traipse them all over the airport, so we took them on the monorail which drops you off on level 3 of the terminal building. There's seating and shops there, so I left hubby and the children there with the cases while I went down to 1A to get the Disney dollars from the VH desk. I then went back up to level 3 and we all went down to 1B to the magical express. The only place that you can cross from side A to B is on level 3.

Personally I'd rather have the slight hassle of the cases in the airport than have to wait 4 hours (or even longer) for them. I'm so relieved when our cases have got to Orlando safely with us, that I don't want to let them out of my sight again. I have also read reports of Disney 'losing' luggage and it not turning up for 24 hours. It's rare, but can happen, so I like to minimise the risk by keeping it with us

No problem

When you get off the monorail you'll be on level 3 and there are large red A and green B signs to show you what side you need to go to. It looks like this:
