Why us?
Not sure whether we can take anymore bad news 😢
We had c@@p luck last couple of years, me with mum dying and my health and dh dad dying at Christmas with covid, also b-in-law having heart attack in his lorry and died age 56 in may. We found out last week that my strong, stubborn (physically and mentally) dh 52 has bladder cancer. To say I'm devastated don't even cover it. He has been looking ill since last year, managed to get appointment for him for over 50s health check last july, all good. Then put it down to all grief, well I couldn't take no more, spoke to doctor and he agreed with me to do full blood count, had to threaten dh with divorce if didn't go! He had bloods done 11am 21st july the morning that we were going away to somerset. Emergency doc rang 11pm to say get back to royal berks hospital in the morning or nearest hospital in somerset. We came back the next morning, his bloods showed severe anaemia and had to have blood transfusion and iron. They were amazed that he hadn't had heart attack or stroke it was that low. Doctor ordered full body ct on tuesday and urology for last thursdsy, wednesday had phone call from specialist to say found something in the bladder 😢 Went to appointment at urology where we had diagnosis, they didn't want to put camera down as he could haemorrhage, so booked in for surgery. They found a cyst on kidney and said that didn't look sinister but ct tomorrow for that. He's only gone self employed since may 2020 and he's not telling the people that he's sub contracting for. We felt positive after thursday and are praying they can remove all the tumour, they are then filling bladder with liquid chemotherapy. Sorry to waffle on but I feel a bit better after typing it all down, its alot to take in, sorry to depress you all on a monday morning. |

Sorry to hear this. I wish I could offer you some help or advice, but unfortunately I don’t have any helpful words of wisdom to offer. I hope your husbands treatment goes well and he’s back on the road to recovery very soon. Sending you both massive hugs. Your Dibb family are here to support you. Thinking of you both, take care x x x

I am genuinely so sorry to hear of what you are going through and hopefully they are right and the cyst on the kidney is not as serious as it could be and that will soon be resolved.
I think as the song says 'things can only get better' so stay strong and please waffle on as much as you want and as often as you want on here. |

I am so sorry, you really have had an awful time.
We have been through something a little similar over last year, my DH was diagnosed with stage four cancer, and was told he was incurable, inoperable and that we should enjoy the next few months. He had six months of chemotherapy and miraculously the cancer disappeared he is currently in full remission which I never dreamt possible! People told me ‘stay positive’ etc but its a very difficult thing to do when you feel so much anguish and despair, all I can say is try not to lose hope, and know that we are all here if you need support. Wishing your DH all the very best of luck for his treatment and a big hug to you x

Seems like it never rains and then it pours.
My eighty year old ( but looks sixty at most ) ex Mother in Law is going through similar treatment at the moment. These kind of diagnosis seem to be treated really effectively nowadays , progress in treatments is amazing. She asks the doctors a million questions and then passes it all on to me. Hang on in there xx |

You’re going through so much and it’s awful. I understand.
In Dec 2018 we were loading the car up with cases as we were going to the hotel prior to flying to Orlando. The Doctor rang and said my results showed I needed fast tracking as I may have bowel cancer. All I can say is keep as positive as you can. Talk as much as you can. It’s going to be a rough ride, but you can get through it. Much love x x x |
