Old small photos
I’m looking for inspiration, ive just found 4 photos of me with my dad, I’m about 8, they’re the old passport type photos, I’d love to be able to have them made into something bigger that I could put on display, any ideas?
They’re black and white if that makes any difference x |

Can you scan them on the highest definition you can. Then get printed?

I would try to get them digitalised, can be done at photo shop if you cannot do on own computer. Then go from there. X i did this with loads of my mums photos - nice to have them now saved forever. X

The best option is to scan them, or get them scanned, as caj says, then save and print them. Being B&W won't make any difference

I have a lovely little keyring photo of my mum and dad. My mum and I would love the picture blown up, even if its just 6x4 size.
Can you get them scanned at Max Speilmans? Thats the only photo place I know in our town. I don’t have a scanner or anything. |

I found a specialist Photo Shop the best. I had 4 photos of my Grandfather from World War 1 that were dog eared, creased and had pieces missing.
The shop 'filled' in the missing pieces and made a really good job of them. However they cannot change the picture if for example it's blurred then it will always be blurred. This is one of the photos I took in and the end result was 10 times better. The creases were gone and the edges repaired.

I've done this myself using software. Spent three years going through old photos , scanning, taking out creases, filling in bits etc. I've forgotten the software I used but it was worth it. Everything now saved.

After we scanned ours we did a photobook for mum, its lovely for her to look back at it, which she has been doing quite a bit recently as i think it helps her to remember things as she comes out with lots of old stories about when they were taken, which in invaluable to us as a family as we feel it is keeping her memory active. Its also a lot lighter for her to hold than a traditional photo album. X
