Sick of news saying people need to take up the booster but you canít get one.

As the title says really.

So much in the news and on tv about the cases rising as people arenít taking up the booster.

But the problem is you canít get one booked!

Are you six months from your last dose?

My husband got his appointment yesterday for 13th November
Our youngest son had his October 3rd and my daughter-in-law had hers on Monday.
Our GPís surgery has been holding clinics some weekends and theyíre apparently getting booked up quite quickly.
I know the flu clinics are getting booked up too
They seem to be getting through them quite well in our area

In Greater Manchester you can book on but it wonít allow you to if you are less than 6 months from your second vaccine.
Otherwise we are doing walk ins and pop up clinics and if you canít book on, we will let you in

DH and I were 6 months to the day yesterday and got the message in the afternoon. Went online straight away and the next two weeks were available all day, every day, at our local pharmacy. Booked the booster for 29th Oct as DS is visiting from tomorrow.

My son was due to have his second next week as I am immune compromised.

This had been booked online 1 month ago.

They knew his age etc as sent us a text a few weeks ago saying he can go if Iím immune compromised.

Today just cancelled. No explanation, says can call NHS to re- arrange.

I call them and they say they canít book it. I also tried and it comes up about you cannot book 17-19. Heís 14 and we booked the second dose online no problem before.

NHS website says call NHS not your doctor.

NHS tell me to call doctor.

What a mess.

Just checked in this and no where near us are offering booster. Only Pvizer 1 or 2.

Mum was 6 months early October, aged 73.

There seems to be a lack of vaccination centres, why aren't they using pharmacies that already do the flu vaccines. My Mum had hers recently as it was on a industrial estate close to where I live I knew where it was. A friend of hers who lives in the next town couldn't find it so called at my Mum's and she had go show them. Its not somewhere you could walk to , unlike the big vaccination centre we had in our local town last year. The problem is it was in our local arts center and now that's reopened as a venue it can no longer be used.
