Finally- my foot scan!

Some of you may remember my thread from a month ago when 'something went pop'! Finally got my foot scan this week, it takes so long for an appointment to come through! I have a ruptured Plantar Fascia ligament, found a couple of photos so you can see what was on the screen, not sure what happens now, waiting for the Fracture clinic to call me to see if there is any treatment.

That horizontal white line is the ligament, where has it gone on the second photo?! Pussycat

All I can say Selina is ouch but it's a common injury with basket ball and netball players
It's a regime of rest specialised foot exercises inserts for shoes been there and I found the most unflatering shoes ever even worse than my obeloved go walks were crocs and like you I was on my feet 12/14 hours a day as a nurse I did mineand Achilles white water rafting in the Tennessee but I was the only one who didn't fall out the boat it'll take a while to heal I'm afraid

I have the same injury. It's the worst pain! I'm on crutches at the minute. Awaiting a cortisone injection.

I'm afraid the memory foam Go Walks do not provide enough support for your feet. I find wearing shoes with a small wedge (lovely unfashionable Pavers...my "granny shoes") are best. I've bought a few pair of Pavers sandals that I wear as slippers around the house, and have inserts in my normal boots/shoes for work. I also have some very sexy big foam boots to wear for bed which hold my feet in the correct position to stretch the bottom of my foot. I had my first cortisone injection in March and I had immediate relief after a day, but it has worn off now. My next one is in June. There are lots of exercises on YouTube you can follow, and I also had lots of physio at our local hospital. Hope the pain starts to decline soon - good luck.

Ooh I'm not sure what I'm looking at but it sounds extremely painful!

Hoping you are on the mend soon Selina xx

Are those your actual pictures, or ones from a website? They look like 2 different scans - showing the same pathology but in a different place/view.

You can see the bone at the bottom of the picture (it's the brightest white line). The plantar fascia is where the red arrow is, but in the second photo the white arrows show it - but it has been distorted as there is fluid (the black stuff) underneath it.

Not my photos but pretty close to what I saw on screen. The sonographer was really great, he scanned my good foot too and put the images side by side so I could see the difference. He pointed out the big white line on my good foot and the fact that it wasn't visible on my bad foot. Off yo see if there is any more treatment next Tuesday, I'm fed up of crutches now! Pussycat
