Rocket Launch on Sunday
So apart from Kennedy itself, where would be a good spot to watch the launch on Sunday evening?
Is Cocoa Beach any good? |

We’ve viewed a launch from Cocoa Beach before when the kids were little and they played on the beach. Would be interested to hear of other places to view from.

We viewed one of the last shuttle launches (Atlantis) in 2010 from Spaceview park, Titusville. One of the best things I have ever witnessed.

I watched a launch from the tiki bar on the end of Cocoa Beach Pier, and it's a great spot to watch a launch with cold drinks and a bite to eat.
They may have a cover charge, but it's well worth it IMO. cocoabeachpier/dining/rikki-tiki-tavern |

Roger that.
Did the same thing in 2009 - definitely one of the best things I've ever seen. Also it was fun...lots of locals and tourists and a very friendly/chatty atmosphere if that's your kinda thing

You can see the launch from anywhere provided you look in the right direction and there is nothing blocking your view! However the 'best' location is as close as possible (otherwise it will appear smaller) with a clear view of the launch pad (so you can see it lift off, not just when it is in the air). It also depends on which launch pad they are using (they are spread over a large area). On Sunday it is Pad 40. Also as it is a SpaceX Falcon, there should be a landing a few minutes later - the landing site is nearer Port Canaveral.
There is a very detailed discussion of all locations here (and some great photos):launchphotography/Del...h_Viewing.html Geeks discuss launches on Reddit:reddit/r/spacex/comm...iewing_thread/ |

Following.. Had planned to watch the one last week but it got cancelled last second and therefore tried to watch the rescheduled one from a far but too much cloud.
May trek out to watch this one on 3rd but on the west coast Sunday 😁 Edited at 12:35 AM. |
