planning routes without satnav

Can anyone help me with planning routes from paradise palms resort (four corners) to all the disney parks. Im on aa route planner/ rac route planner and they have 2 to 3 routes to each destination and we dont know what to put as the destination as were not sure if well end up at the car park or the entrance to the park etc. Anyone know what to type in each park or is it a case of following signs once your in DISNEY? We might have a satnav already in the car when we collect from alamo but in case we dont we need the good old maps. Also any tips on driving in florida/ petrol/ toll charges etc will be great as this is our first trip. Thanks guys

First of I hope you have a fantastic time and if you want some general driving tips have a look in the DIBB guidebook which has driving information and toll charges and a whole lot more.

We don't use satnav over there apart from when we fancied a trip home from the coast through the country lanes and Joan loaded "HERE" free to her iPhone.

This thread however does contain some useful satnav addresses.

Signage is great. Here's typical one leaving US192 for WDW and another on Disney property (which covers 47 square miles by the way )

Its really easy. Back on to the 192 and every park is signposted. Come off at either Sherberth rd or World Drive. If you are worried you can hire Sat Navs off ebay very cheaply. These will be pre loaded with all the parks, restaraunts ,etc.

Follow this on google maps - 1 Join Westside Blvd and drive to jct with 192. At traffic lights drive across the road and join Avalon Road, a couple of minutes along turn right onto Hartzog Road. A couple of miles along this it turns into dual carriageway turn right onto Western Way and you will arrive at a jct next to Coronado Springs, turn left and follow the signs for where you want. 2 At the jct on Westside Blvd turn right onto the 192. Continue until you see the 429 flyover, move into the lane in the middle of the road and prepare to turn left up the slip road as you pass under the bridge onto the 429. At 100 yards pay $1.00 toll. Take the next slip road onto Western Way until the jct next to Coronado Springs, turn left and follow signs. 3 I never bother with the Sherberth Road because every now and again there is a speed trap. 4 Continue along the 192 until the turn for World Drive and follow signs. Be aware that during the rush hour with all of the traffic lights and the volume of traffic the 192 road might be a bit slow. To return using the routes that I have suggested get onto Buena Vista Drive and follow signs to Coronado Springs Resort, the next jct turn right onto Western Way.

There's always my good old Tourist Map of the area - now in its 7th edition, and it has loads of useful information on it. Plus it gives an excellent overall view of the area - orlandomaps

You only need to make your way to the disney area after that signs will take you where you want to go.
