Three has the cheapest options for any travel in the states from the U.K. and coverage is fine with no issues for Internet coverage but if you are looking a hostspot I’m not sure if they allow it as I have seen restrictions b4 when trying myself

three/Store/SIM/Pay_As_You_Go Check which package you can use with GoRoam. The other option which I just checked it to search for a 1 month Advance plan and on there the £19 12G package, unlimited texts and minutes around the world looks like a good package.

Sometimes it is worth checking with your own provider.

I am with EE, and they have a good deal whereby I can add US data for £5 per day but only for the days that I use it.

I find this ad hoc option really nice as I don’t find myself using data on some days.

I’d have thought the three £15 pay as you go add on that gives you 5gb data for a month would be plenty. You get unlimited calls and texts to UK numbers too-useful for finding the wife in those sprawling malls.

You can also get a 2gb for £10 which is also probably enough- more than enough if you are just using Uber and perhaps checking out local restaurants attractions etc. I’ve never got through 2gb in a whole month yet unless streaming but the peace of mind of having 5 gb may be worth the extra £5

If other members of the party need to keep in touch we only put the add on on one phone as that expires after a month. For other phones I just add £5 non expiring credit which is then used as needed on threes 3 2 1 pay as you go plan . I think we spent about 20p on it last time. You just need to preserve the credit. Three say you need to make a chargeable call every 6 months to do that but I’ve been over 12 months and not had a problem

We use a SIM from Three, it’s a pure data SIM with 24Gb that is valid for 24 months. We used it in out MiFi last October with no issues at all.

12gb of data, unlimited voice and txt worked fine in the US , I pay £12 a month sim only deal with 3, can also tether with wife's phone for free so she can use my data allowance. I signed up for a contract 18 month ago, now out of contract but can't see any better deals
