My DH has set holidays at the end of July so we are always tied to school holidays sadly. He does have other holidays too so we tend to go for a week at the end of July (with DD who is in uni ) and then another week early June with DD when she breaks up from uni or early October (without DD, so a couples holiday) If we are very lucky, we have all three holidays 😉

I had a couple of short breaks booked - will save the money and either use it if my job goes belly up or save it for next years holiday . We are doing bits around the house but using stuff we had in place already. I ordered new kitchen cupboard doors last October which have only gone on last week !

We didn’t really have anything booked as such. We’ve spent around £1000 on club flights in October out to LAX back from SFO which are refundable at any point for £70 (or free if the airline cancels).
Other than that we had some money we were saving up for the trip, but that was sort of mixed in with our other savings.

We are planning on buying our forever home in around two years so I would like to have a fair amount saved up for that, so no renovations planned for our current house.

Honestly it will probably just sit in the bank. I have been thinking more and more recently about how much I’d like to have a caravan to go up to at weekends. My grandparents used to take me on caravan holidays as a child and I have such nice memories and as we don’t live anywhere near the coast it would be nice to have somewhere closer to the coast that we could stay. All ideas that will probably never happen though!

Thinking of converting half our garage (we have a double one) into a dining room. Not really sure where to start though in terms of finding reputable builder to do it!

We was going to our villa at the end of September but have released the weeks.
Now have booked two nights in the Village hotel at Portmeirion, somewhere we have always wanted to go and maybe then go onto Chester for another two nights and see the zoo.

Changing the box room which I use as a dressing room into a walk in wardrobe with an area for me to do my hair and make up. Was planning on doing it next year but have rescheduled our river cruise from July to June 2021 so may as well do it now.

Still waiting to see about our greek cruise in late September assuming it won’t go ahead so will save that money for next years holidays.

Garden update for us, looks like thats where we are staying this summer. So new decking and artificial grass for us. I am looking forward to it actually, because it’s something we would never normally do.

I am surprised that property prices are rising, especially when the property market isn't moving. The telegraph yesterday said that newly agreed sales have fallen by 90%, and some are predicting property prices dropping by as much as 30%.

My guess is that property prices won't drop as much as 30%, but I would be extremely surpised if they started increasing when people aren't even viewing properties. Perhaps your online friend might be right, but I am more inclined to think they are being overly optomistic especially as it's in their interest to promote such confidence in the housing market.

House prices are only going one way with the predicted 10% unemployment rate
