I just swap between the two every year for the new customer deal and the cashback! Never had an issue with either.

Sky definitely, I have had the ‘top’ BT service before (this was 4 years ago) and it was not great. Fast enough but dropping out all the time, which got tedious.

I think Sky now have faster Internet (fibre?) so I would go with them. BT customer service for me was awful, they genuinely didn’t seem to care when I asked them about the ‘dropping’ I never did get it resolved as I went back to Sky and then moved house!👍

BT monopolise the market, I’m quite cross I have to be tied into a contract with them for 2 years. We’ve been told by our developer than BT haven’t released the line to other companies yet and they don’t do it until nearer the end of the development. My broadband is already excellent (house is only 10 years old) so I’m not worried about quality but I don’t appreciate not having a choice and being forced to use a company I don’t like.

Absolutely detest BT. Wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. My dad used to work for them and out of principle I will never use them. We used to have BT when he worked for them, constant issues with the connection, repeatedly resetting the hub. Mum and dad then got sky and it was like Christmas.

We also now have sky, absolutely no problems. I think I’ve reset the hub 2x in 3.5 years where my phone hasn’t connected properly - laptop and desktop have never had an issue connecting and nor has OHs phone. Customer service is so much better as well.

We couldn't wait to get rid of Sky broadband, it was awful, always dropping out completely, very slow and unreliable. Never had a single problem with BT broadband

You sure there isn’t an alternative. We had a choice of Bt or zen in our new build.

And Bt doesn’t monopolise. I don’t actually think they are allowed to due to competition markets.

To be honest though it’s not brilliant that Bt pay a hell of a lot of money to upgrade all these lines etc, only partially supported by the government for other providers to then get to use the lines.

It will happen the same was as the first fibre did. Bt do all the work and get the first few years and then the rest will jump on the bandwagon. People like sky can have this network which is the reason a company like zen can. It’s just sky will not pay the costs
