Wearing a mask on a plane is hardly not living freely - do you not wear a seat belt on an aeroplane?

We have booked for Sept and added a hotel night to make it a holiday so only paid deposit. Can cancel up to 3 weeks before and will just loose deposit so happy to watch and wait. Our DS wouldn’t cope in a mask so we would have to cancel I think. Not booking anything else for a while.

We’ve re-booked our Disney hotel for next August but I’m holding off with flights at the moment because I’m concerned masks will still be mandatory and I think this will be a deal breaker for us in the Florida summer heat. But I’m also missing some good flight prices so not sure what to do. I can cancel the hotel no problem but doubt I can get the money back for flights.

If you’ve booked already are you happy to still go if you have to wear a mask? Or are you thinking masks won’t be mandatory by next summer?
I'll answer this as best I can, but am aware some might see this as political.

I presume that depending on the outcome of the election in November masks will or won't be madatory in 2021

If the incumbent retains the presidency I predict a strong move towards "life back to normal, the virus won't hurt"

Whereas if he has to return to living on a golf course I predict a more cautious approach and masks through 2021

Whether the need to wear a mask at Disney is enough reason to change your boting pattern or not is another question for one of the sub-forums

In summary - I'd wait until mid November before booking flights, as by then we will have a good idea about how they will address the virus next year

I think the resolution to people not wearing masks on a plane is that the crew go round and everyone that is not wearing the mask (or not wearing it properly) has their oxygen mask disconnected - after all they don't want to wear a mask do they, so the airline is just respecting their wishes

There's no way I'm going to fly to Orlando wearing a mask and then wearing a mask in the parks, that's not a holiday to me and I'd rather not go.
