We always go in September the first time we stayed in a villa we didnt have heating and although when first getting into pool felt bit chilly that feeling soon went off, however every time since we have opted for heating just prefer to have the edge taken off the chill but as I said perfectly ok without as someone else mentioned when spending all that money on holiday if it is only a cost thing id pay. You could always see if villa owner will do a bit of discount I normally ask and have always managed some discount

We always visit end of Sept/beginning of Oct. Have tried with and without the pool heating but would definitely now always have the pool heated as its great for later in the evening.
Maybe we just aren't hardy enough

Not understanding this one months notice for pool heat either. I wouldn't say you need the pool heat either in September either but I like the pool to cool and refresh me. I also give my guests the option to have it turned on when they are there. I do this myself remotely from my laptop so no MC needed to go to the home but even if I couldn't do it myself I would still give this option and have the MC go turn it on.

We go the end of September and still can't decide but do like the early & late swims so looks like we better have the heat turned on !

My guests last year went at this time for 3 weeks and I gave them the option to wait and see. They asked for the pool heat to be turned on for the last week.

You could just switch it on yourself . Switch normally by the pump .
