They clip back. Have a bit of fun. Walk down all the aisles and open all of them. 🤣

as annoying as the glass doors are, nothing is more annoying than the men who stare at sandwiches for an eternity when you're just trying to get a meal deal

Our Aldi did the same last year. You can only get one person at a time with their trolley as no space to get round them.

Also on fresh meat they have put a roughly 4’’ glass edging at the front of the top shelves making it hard to reach especially as the steaks are often left in a heap flat so very hard to reach

there's also the folk who block off the entire discount chiller section with their body and the trolley like it's a line of police tape

People stand in front of the old fashion shelves and block others with trolleys currently so personally I don't find it any different. The frozen food in Sainsbury's has always been in freezers with doors (well some)

Spare a thought for those of us who are disabled and either using a mobility scooter or wheelchair these doors make it a nightmare to shop.

Well according to the local Facebook page our Tesco has done the same. I went to Waitrose yesterday but only bought jam (sorry conserve) and wine so didn't even go down the freezer aisle. (I never understand buying things in there I can get so much cheaper in any of the other supermarkets).

They reduce emissions & costs which is a good thing. They also stop accidents as these fridges & freezers really struggle in warmer weather. You'll see it with puddles in front of them, snakes used to try soaking it up. Reduce the heat loss means they run at lower levels & therefore don't overheat & breakdown. I can promise you, until we got doors on chillers & well freezers this was an at least weekly occurrence.

Is it really a nightmare? Just chill out, have a bit of patience & wait.

They do save energy, but they also worsen the customer experience and are a deterrent to sales as they put up a physical barrier between the customer and the products. Many years ago I worked for a retailer who considered and rejected doors at that time for that very reason.

I am also not keen on being forced to put my hand on a handle that has the germs and faecal matter of thousands of previous customers!
