This happened to us & I waited nearly 3 hours to get my bags back……in the end I finally got onto the Tampa flight with BA so bags stayed where they were…..I’d checked in & dropped bags at 6.30pm on the Saturday night & there was app no staff available to take me through to collect my bags from the back 😬……bag drop is a fab idea in theory but if something goes wrong then it’s not good!

Had a ≈≈≈≈ experience on this flight last year, and is one of the main reasons we’re going into Miami from LHR this year. BA out of Gatwick is like playing with fire these days.

Only 2.5% of flights were cancelled in this period.

Out of the 360 flights i counted, only 9 were cancelled.

Sorry for those affected by cancellations but just wanted to give some perspective for those worrying!
Can you check just for June-July 2023? That was a particularly bad time if I recall.

does it really matter when flights were cancelled last year - a plane can go tech at any time, day or night any month.

just cos it happened last June on a certain day doesn't mean that that the dame day this year will be cancelled

True. It's the pattern and trend of cancellations that matters.

But if it turns out that more summer flights get cancelled than other seasons then that’s a trend right?

Not really. In the Winter season there is only 1 flight a day to MCO. Some days none at all.

It is what it is and although a right pain in the ≈≈≈≈ one has to roll with it. We do that route 4 or 5 times a year but I don't lose heart muscle over it. What will be will be. I do have back up plans in my back pocket mind.
