I got ‘tricked’ into getting the mega large one! Certainly never tipped even 10% the server poured it from the tap and it took 20 seconds! Not worth 5 bucks !

I have never tipped for drinks at a bar in my 15 USA trips and have no intention of starting.

In a fast food, I round up, so if it is $37 and I have two twenties, then the tip is $3
If it is $39 and I have two twenties, then the tip is $1
If it is $32 and I have two twenties.. then they may get lucky.

If it is sit down, then it is $15 or so, whether in a Denny’s or a Rainforest Cafe. They are all doing the same job. If I was crazy and went to Victoria and Albert’s… it would be $15 and I would not care in the slightest what they think.

In Hooters.. $25 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.

So tonight me and my mum went to the Outlets for a few bits. About 7:45pm we were feeling hungry but also tired (first day flagging) so we decided on something quick and easy: Panda Express. I know theres been mixed reviews lately on the Dibb for Panda so thought I would see what the craic is.

We went to the Panda which is near the new Cheesecake Factory. We entered and there was just a couple of people in front (although by the time we left it was busy).

The lady serving was very pleasant and friendly and we decided on a ‘bigger’ plate to share - which is a triple entree plus a side. We decided on a triple portion of the Orange Chicken (an old fave). We got this with Chow Mein and a large fountain drink and the total was $14.91.

I have to say it was very tasty and just what we needed. The portion size was perfect as my mum isn’t a huge eater but there was enough for both of us easily. We’ve always enjoyed PE and this time was as good as usual. My only complaints would be that the chicken could have been a teeny bit hotter (it was served hot, but not piping steaming hot) and also the temperate in the restaurant was BALTIC. We sat outside to eat as it was much warmer. But overall a decent good value meal.

Also, no tip was required or prompted so today we’ve only spent about $30 on food between us - will almost certainly be our cheapest day 😂

After PE, I headed to Crumbl Cookies next door for dessert but unfortunately none of the cookies looked that great for this week (they have new cookies every week) and at over $5 a cookie I didn’t want to get any unless I really wanted a certain one.

We had Chips Ahoy in the room instead 😂

Anyway, a lovely sunny relaxed first day which was needed. Tomorrow will be much of the same, we are hoping to go to either Longhorn or Bonefish Grill tomorrow 😀

I was in Paris Baguette in Manhattan just over a week ago, I picked up sandwiches and handed them to the cashier to go. I paid by card and she turned the terminal around and I had to press no tip! she bagged 2 sandwiches and they expected a tip! it was $34.02 for 2 sandwiches, so no thanks. The food truck I used the following day for a ham, egg and cheese for $5 wasnt upset when I tipped $2 for 2 of those when he had actually made them.

I thought I would do another food report as the last one people seemed to enjoy and we all know tipping is a popular subject 😂 This trip is just me and my mum and we are trying to do it on a semi budget of sorts! We’ve got 9 nights in a Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista. No parks booked as we just can’t be ≈≈≈≈≈ and want to relax 😀

So me and my mum flew into Orlando yesterday on the Delta flight from Heathrow……it was a good flight, and only half full so me and my mum had 2 rows to ourselves each ❤️ It was the later flight in, and by the time we got to the room it was 11:30pm so we had showers and straight to bed……we were planning on grabbing some fast food but we were so tired and not even hungry to be honest.

Woke up early this morning, still quite tired but we’ve gone to Publix for snacks and a pub sub for lunch around the pool later ($8.99) - enough for 2. The weather is currently lovely and sunny and we plan on sunbathing all day and relaxing. The only food item I have got so far is a Dunkin Iced Dunkalatte and a Boston Creme Donut which came to just under $8 (both delicious) and required no tip.

The restaurants we plan on visiting:
- Longhorn Steakhouse
- Chicken Guy
- Bonefish Grill (won an Insta competition for $100)
- Carrabas (same as above)

No other restaurants confirmed but will go with the flow and any suggestions welcome. 🤗

Current view ☺️☺️

Like before, 10% will be my go to tip but I am happy to adjust if service is better than I expect (or worse 😳 )

Hope you all enjoy!
Good morning & hello Dunkin 🍩❤️🇺🇸😋
Hope you & Mum have a fantastic time

Lovely gorgeous sunny day with highs forecast to be 29 degrees so was up early to do a Walmart trip. Spent $166 😶 but managed to get a lot of good stuff which will last!

Breakfast was just a bowl of Chobani yogurt and fruit in the room - lovely.

Now just sat by the pool with my Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew. This came to $6.12 - a tip was prompted which I ignored. Also my name is Lyle - not Lyal 😂

At a buffet restaurant the server is at our table twice as often as for a normal meal. A normal meal they take the order, bring the drinks, bring the food, maybe a refill. For buffet we tend to have 3 or 4 small plates of mains, then 2-3 plates of pudding, stay longer so manage more refills. I still tend to tip 10% as a base here then up it if the server has been especially attentive
