I saw that you are off there on your way to Australia. It seems a lot of us are there this year!

And you have a cruise too if I remember correctly? And HK?
So looking forward to being back in Asia! Such a different vibe than Europe and North America!

Yes, we have 2 nights in Singapore, ( booked the Fairmont Club) then we go around Thailand, Vietnam and arrive in HK (12 night Celebrity cruise cost me about $4500 for 2 in club balcony room, drinks and WiFi included, great deal). Upon arrival in HK we fly back that night (ran out of holiday at work) but have the Celebrity tour of HK booked with airport drop off.
Never done this part of the world but I hear constant good things. We have some great excursions booked.

This is a trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary which is whilst we are there! We didn’t celebrate our silver as it was in the middle of a very strict lockdown! We are making up for it now!

Travelling is myself and my lovely husband J. Our youngest is somewhat miffed she is not coming but as she will be in the middle of her university exams, there was never any chance!

Flights

We are flying Lufthansa from our local airport via Munich on the way out and Frankfurt on the way back. J is particularly excited about the flight home as it is on a 747!

Both connections are rather tight which is why we chose Munich on the way out as the airport is more navigable! I still have nightmares about our cross Frankfurt dash a few years ago! Not for the faint hearted!

Hotel

We are staying at the Fraser Residence River Promenade hotel - a 5 star relatively new hotel.

This is in a suite with a kitchenette. It includes breakfast and early evening cocktails and snacks.

Plans

We have three things booked!

* a food cycle tour around China Town and Little India - this was suggested by a Dibber!

* Green Oasis Gardens - This was free but I was only able to book it as I needed to get up in the night to go to the loo (TMI? ) as tickets become available at 1.30am CET - much look than judgement

* Another Dibb suggestion was the highest microbrewery in the work - LeVeL 33. We are having afternoon tea here for our anniversary

Other than these we have flexible plans which include:

* Garden by the Bay including the Cloud and Flower Domes and the tall tree walkway

* The wetlands nature reserve at Sungei Buloh

* Sentosa - but not Universals neither of us are big thrill riders

* We will probably explore more China Town and Little India on foot together with Buddha-tooth Temple

* Henderson Waves - again in a national park

* Botanical Gardens - this depends on how much time we have. We are there for 7 nights (plus the two overnight flights!)

Food

We will of course visit some Hawker Centres (got out some cash today to exchange once we get there) and also Satay Avenue but otherwise we’ll go with the flow (except for the afternoon tea!)

Only three days to go!
WOW this all looks amazing & your hotel looks stunning
Have a fab time a lovely 30th Anniversary & a safe flight

Not sure they take you up a mountain, around the sites of the city etc, so at least we will see it. Drop you off at the airport around 5pm I think.
Someone was showing me the Satay Avenue the other day who had just been- looked great.
I’ll be following with interest, the hotel etc looks great.

The Big Buddha is close to the airport so that may be on the your. Or of course there iconic Peak Tram! I am sure you will love it!

Satay Avenue is on our list but I am a non meat eater I am not sure what will be on offer for me!

I picked the hotel as we get a kitchen and a washing machine as well as breakfast and cocktails! We will see!

Thinking it was less than 3 days to go, I went onto the “My IcA” to do our pre-registration SG Arrival Card but it only gave me the option of today, tomorrow and Friday and as we arrive on Saturday I guess I have to wait until tomorrow!

I did at least make our profiles!
