Sainsburys stupid glass cupboards

So our large Sainsbury’s has now moved to putting all cold food items behind glass doors! It’s made shopping a nightnare, waiting for other shoppers to look for ages (as they should be able to) but it’s made shopping a total nightmare for anyone wanting to look in the same area for anyone else!

It’s all part of energy savings and net zero, and of course cost savings for the supermarkets.

Not sure why you can't look the same time as other customers?

When my local Asda did this all I could see was smears all over the front of the glass doors where people had been touching them Talk about cross contamination just yuk!

I know most supermarkets are going to do this but I really think it is unhygienic as I've been to the toilets in some supermarkets and seen people use the toilet and just walk out without washing their hands

Whilst I understand why, I do find it annoying particularly as ours has things behind the doors such as fruit/veg but chilled items are all still in open display units. Can’t understand why at all

Because people stand there in front of the doors - open or shut - so you can't see round them into the fridge!

I hate them.too!

I've just realized our big M and S have done this in the food hall but our local food only store hasn't.

The big M&S in Warrington did this last year, it’s a right pain, to open the fridge you have to move your trolley to open the door and if the aisle is full it gets crazy.
