50's prime time cafe

We were there in June, and it was the only disappointment of the holiday. We weren't going for the food, but thought that the it would be a fun night out.

Our kids (10 & 11) were desperate to be "told off", and tried everything (elbows on table, leaving some food, keeping hats on etc etc) but our waitress wasn't at all interested. We didn't get the introductions to our "cousins" at other tables, that we'd seen on youtube, no kind of banter in any way.

If you're going for the food, and any entertainment is going to be an bonus, you'll be OK, but if you're expecting more, you could well be disappointed.

We ate there on our last trip and loved it. DH had the sampler, I had the pot roast and DD had the chicken. It was all gorgeous. You can have a milkshake as your drink but it might be a bit much, I had cherry coke and had the milkshake as a dessert. The milkshakes are very thick and creamy and you get so much you get enough for a cup to go. I had th pb&j - it was to die for.
