Planning wdw when they are a little older, but that's too far for me to think about at the moment!
I think if you're not getting off in every port, it's perfect!
We're only getting off in Villefranche and Naples this year .. We don't actually want to get off for Villefranche but my mum and friend have said we have to!
Next May (same itinerary), we're not getting off at all!

Back in 2011 we took DS on a 4 night cruise on DCL in the Bahamas. It was a very different experiance to our previous cruise, but then life is very different once they come along.

We were never short of things to do as he loved just walking around the ship and taking it all in, consequently i now know my way around the Fantasy very well! All the crew were excellent whenever we had an interaction with them & it was so nice to see his face when we would radomly bump into charaters as we patrolled the ship, they were always happy to interact.

We did utilise the nursery over his daily nap time which gave DW & I a chance to have a couple of hours off during the day and lie out in the sun. The staff there were excellent and we were happy to leave him in there even though it was the first time he had been in any sort of day care.

The splash area was brilliant for him and we spent many hours in there.

Now we also have DD we are going to wait several years before we go on another cruise so that they will be old & confident enough to be able to fully utilise the kids clubs on board (so that mummy & daddy can fully utilise the sun beds some more )

Glad you managed to get some adult time, the Fantasy is a lovely ship especially up at Satellite Falls.

The Magic is going to have a similar splash zone to the Fantasy in her refit later this year

No matter! No Satellite Falls then and no big Splashzone, just the small one by the Mickey pool.
You should really get on the Fantasy now!

Oh Yea! I think that the Fantasy would be a perfect home for 3 years worth of DVC points

We have also cruised with a 13 month old on the Wonder and overall we loved it. The nursery was brilliant for giving us a few hours off and allowing us to eat our meals in peace and we had so much fun with her on the ship. It also meant that our older DD could go off and enjoy time with kids her own age rather than doing 'baby' things all the time.

On the downside there was no way she would sit through the shows (kicking the back of the seat in front was much more fun for her) so we only got to see one show during whole cruise, and meeting the characters made her scream!

Here is a link to my trip report on our cruise

Much better to rent your points and pay cash. DCL is really not a good use of your points.

If you're a passholder on here, you can rent your points and it's very easy (we've rented from people here before we bought and now we've rented some of our own to friends this year).

Points are going for between £6.50-£7 so a fair amount.
