Flydrive question before cruise
Hi there
Not posted for a long time but been a regular voyeur of posts! Am after a little of advice, we have a cruise booked for next April out of Fort Lauderdale. Are we better to fly direct into Miami rather than Orlando? If we do Orlando-Miami what would be the drive time? Am wondering if we would be better to spend the night in Orlando then drive down the next day if we go with the latter option (I should add that we are planning to fly out 2-3 days prior to the cruise as hoping to meet with friends we met on a previous cruise). Our first cruise was some years ago out of Ft Lauderdale and the Virgin person at Gatwick said she didn't understand why they hadn't flown us into Miami but we were none the wiser then and we were having a week in Orlando first. Looking forward to all your advice! Thanks guys! Anne |

Orlando to Port Everglades approx 3.5 hrs, approx 4 hrs to Miami.
Our preference is to fly into FLL or MIA to avoid the drive which is quite boring. We like the Gulf Coast and have flown into Fort Myers (RSW) a few times and stayed in the Naples area pre-cruise. It's only about an hour to the port from there. For our next Caribbean cruise in Jan, we got a good deal on flights to MIA and we'll explore the Everglades/ Keys for a few days pre-cruise. |

Thanks for that Omega1, think we will try to get quotes to fly direct to Miami.
