It is a very full day and also very rewarding and interesting. What particular details would you like to know as we did this in June.

Hi Claire,We all did the dolphin swim last year,we have just booked to back to disney next easter, my hubby and one son(19)want to go to DC but not bothered about the dolphin swim, my other son (11)wants to do the trainer, so my questions(at long last you say) are,
1, How long is the dolphin swim 2,Is it with other people 3, How many dolphins do you swim with 4, Any thing else you can think to tell me 5, Are there any trip reports on this subject Thanks Claire |

Basically as soon as you get there at say 8am you are meet by your trainer and then the groups are sorted out, there was 4 groups of between 6 and 8 people. You also get your waterproof disposable camera.
We then went and got our lockers sorted out and vests/wetsuits. It was then off to the aviary for feeding the birds. This lasted a while but we were then able to go for a swim around the 'lazy river'. After this we went for our preassigned 'normal' dolphin interaction. Once this was done we were able to go for an early lunch. It was then onto the coral reef to feed the fish and then the ray pool to feed the rays, it is a strange feeling when they suck the food out of your hand Then we were able to feed the sharks! We did a little bit 'back stage' and were shown the feeding area and also the schedule of who is training, who is doing the interactions and where the dolphins are and what they are doing. It was then time to meet the anteater, sloth and several of the birds. Then lastly around 3pm we each had our second swim with the dolphins this time it was the double dorsal pull with two dolphins or a belly pull if you ahve back/shoulder/neck probelm as the double dorsal pull is very straining on that area of the body. In all it is a long day with little time to relax but very informative and interesting. I think I got the majority of that in the right order! Claire |
