Visitor toll pass - is each toll charge a separate card transaction?
We're off to Orlando tomorrow and picking up an AVIS rental car. I have signed up for Visitor Toll Pass using my credit card.
Will every single toll be charged as a separate transaction, or do they total them all and make a single charge at the end of the rental (when returning the rear view mirror pass)? I asking because I'm concerned about lots of transaction fees from my credit card? An alternative I'm considering is using my bank card, where I have a travel wallet for US dollars setup. Any advice here appreciated. Thanks. |

It's an online account which keeps a running total, it's settled in one go at the end of your stay.

They don't take any money after the $10 deposit until the end of your trip.

As Dr JJ says. You lodge a $10 deposit with your CC when you set up your account. This goes towards a deposit that you forfeit if you don't return the tag but also contributes towards toll charges.
You'll get a detailed account by email at the end of your hire period. VTP is not like purchasing a Sunpass from Publix etc where you add $$ as and when you think it needs topping up. Mick PS Don't forget that you can only pick up the tag on side A level 1

My experiences of using it four times is that by the time we arrive at the villa 40 minutes away all three tolls on the 417 are already showing on my account with time I drove through and even the lane I drive through.
You'll be aware that VTP is admin fee free and the tolls are a tad cheaper than the posted cash price. Welcome to the DIBB and have a fantastic holiday. Mick

My tolls from airport to resort were on the following morning. I did have an email asking me to update car registration too so worth keeping an eye on emails. Also worth noting you can only collect on A side not B as email suggests, I had to park the luggage and kids with my sister and walk back over. Have great trip

We used it in July and I loved it. Got tbh, I checked that it was working to put my mind at rest (we went through the cash toll section and it showed - « Go SunPass »), as it took some time for transactions to appear.
It’s definitely worth it if you’re going to take some trips outside the Disney/Central Fl bubble. |

As far as I am aware, if your credit card chare for a fx transaction it will be a % fee on transactions, so it would be the same charge for 10 x $2 transactions as 1 x $20.
