Carnival Cruise cancelled August 2020

Hi, I have just had an email from Carnival cancelling our cruise from Tampa in August. We have two options; 1) full refund or 2) 100% future cruise credit and $300 onboard credit.

What isn’t clear however, is if we will have to pay the balance of our cruise if we want to claim the future cruise credit. Does anyone have any idea?

I can’t speak for Carnival but other cruise lines within Carnival Corporation do not require the balance to be paid if they have cancelled a cruise. Basically, if you are happy to leave your deposit with them (as a fcc), when you book another cruise you will get $300obc. It’s just a sweetener to hang on to your cash.

Which ship were you due on. I know ours (Elation) is still sailing from Canaveral on the 22nd. Is it possible to re-jig so you could have the cruise at the end rather than beginning?

I’d take the rebook with onboard credit , there’s some amazing offers if you go through the offers link on their webpage for next year.

Our August Carnival cruise from LA was cancelled, we had paid deposit and the balance was not due for another few weeks, and we took the credit offer and rebooked for next August from Miami. We contacted by email one of the vacation planners at carnival and he transferred everything over to a new booking for us. When we booked last weekend, there was a $100 obc offer on, which he combined with our $600 obc compensation, so we were really happy about that!

He was recommended to me and has been very helpful. He did everything by email, and when I did ring him for something I went straight through, no queueing which was great. He has a Facebook page, DM me if you’d like his email and FB details 😊
