Good cost?

Plannnig a trip for May 2020, 7th-21st to be exact. Have not been since 2014 and was our first time in 2010 before that. This time we will have our two children who will be 5 years old and turning 3 years old whilst we are there.

Been given a price of £6734.38 from TUI flying from Bristol to Sanford with £468.00 for car hire and accounting £175 for resort parking, bringing a total of £7377.38. Staying at Pop with 10 day dining plan upgraded from free breakfast.

Is this about right for a family of four nowadays?

It depends when your 3 year turns 3. They will be charging you for a pass for your nearly 3 year old. I went when my 2 year old was turning 3 and it was close to the end of the holiday so I didn't need to buy one. The best thing is to price up a flight, car and the hotel separately.

Sounds expensive to me, especially at non-peak times. Looking at the Disney site, 2 weeks at Pop with 2 adult and 1 child park ticket comes to £3339. It's £924 to upgrade to the QS dining plan, taking it to £4263, or have you upgraded to the DDP? Based on upgrading to the QSDP, and accounting for your car hire and parking costs, TUI are wanting £2471 for flights which is way above what you should be paying for term time May flights IMO. Do you have to fly from Birmingham? Do you definitely want a package rather than DIY? If you want a package, try giving Matt at My Magic Holidays a call to get a comparison. Do you definitely need the car if staying onsite?

I'd also question whether it's worth upgrading the dining plan with 2 small children. £924 is a lot of money for 2 weeks worth of food, and I'd be surprised if you broke even by upgrading. The free breakfast is actually a free QS credit that can be used for any meal at any QS restaurant in the parks, resorts and Disney Springs. Your 1 daily credit could easily feed all 4 of you for lunch or dinner as you could order an adult meal for the children to share. Take some cereal for an easy breakfast in your room (we take the variety boxes, which kids love), and then you're only really paying for 1 meal a day and a few snacks. I'd be surprised if you spent £66 per day on that. Personally, I don't think the free breakfast to QS plan is worth it.

Yes, The OP edited their post after I had posted.

BTW I do think that's expensive and loves2plan has given some excellent advice

Apologies, I should clarify further. I'm upgrading to the Disney Dining Plan not the Quick Service Plan. Despite the children only being young, both my 5 year old and 3 yeah old eat very well. The main reason is we are planning on doing quite a few character meals.

We would be charged for a ticket and dining plan for the 3 year old as despite Disney not charging when guests turn 3 on vacation, TUI base it on the age of the child on the return flight due to insurances we were informed.

Having been twice before we enjoyed the conveinience of a car and beleive it would be more benificial with children and a buggy in tow when compared to the on site transportation.

Flights from Bristol in my eyes are a must as it's a 20 min drive from our house which means no airport parking fees as we would have family give us a lift but also reduces the travel time when flying from one of the other major airports. Trust me a 2 hour drive, 3 hour check in and 9 hour flight would a struggle with children of the age they currently are.

Are you going for 2 weeks or 10 days? Your dates suggest 2 weeks, but later on in the post you say that you've got 10 days upgraded dining plan. Is that a typo or are you somewhere else for the other 4 days, and is that included in the cost?
