we were there mid Dec 2017 and had to buy long sleeved T-shirts Jeans and fleeces as it was freezing. I remember shivering on the ferry to the ticket centre and having ice on the car when we got there. it was the 1st time we turned a cars heating on in Florida.

Altho it gets chilly, bar the winter of 2010, we've never seen frost/ice in SW Fl, but then we have the bonus of being on the coast vs inland. Based on our weather up here I'll gladly take a SW Fl cool spell as we know, at most, they only last a few days/week, the months of winter we have ahead of us here isn't thrilling. This is our first full UK winter since 2009

ChrisS our. Florida friend in 2010 asked Ian who had the same Jaguar how to use the windscreen de-icer and heated seats he’d never had to use them before
I’m with you Christmas in the villa or with you on the Island next year looks ever better
I’ll cook and Ian will keep you amused with his sick sense of of humour or you can slum with us

We were there 5 years ago from Christmas Day -7th Jan and it was unseasonably warm! 27 degrees the first week and temperature only dipped towards the end of the second week (lots of photos of us in jumpers!).

Our son who lives in Orlando messaged to say he had to scrape frost off his windscreen this morning before going to work.

Sorry to hear about your lost DC visit OP.I was there early December 2007 which was very hot at certain points in the days but chilly at night. Christmas 2009 was more consistently chilly. We were in a disney water park when seemingly the only visitor accents around us were hardy Brits We had to move our Discovery Cove booking towards the end of the trip due to a lot of very cold rain but the actual day itself was then pretty warm.Packing for Christmas in Florida seems to require every thing from your swimming cossie to your scarf and gloves :-).

Last Christmas was weird weather, much wetter than usual but in the 80s every day. Christmas Day was the best day, lovely weather and after going to AK and Yak and Yeti, my daughter met up with a friend she had met on the cruise the summer before out of Miami who was staying at Hard Rock. We went into the pool at Beach Club (not hard) and swam all Christmas afternoon it was great.

I love getting out there in winter. Years ago it snowed overnight in Orlando when we were there. We were out in the morning in hoodies, and by the afternoon sunbathing around the pool.

I also quite like it boiling hot in August as well.

It always amazes me how quickly the weather can change there.

We always go for a month at a time and can guarantee a few water park days and a beach visit at some point, even had a couple of hurricanes in December previously.

I love going away in December, whatever the weather it’s always better than here!
