£2000 for a 7 bedroom for two weeks is pretty cheap if you ask me.

I guess you are paying for convenience. Shop around and see if you can get two villas closer together where you can split your party.

Out of general interest, how much would you consider to be a fair price for a 7 bedroom house?

To be honest, I thought that as there must be 12 - 14 people going, £142 per night sounded pretty reasonable.
We often rent 2 bed tiny cottages (no pool ![]()

£1000 per week for a 7 bedroomed home that will sleep 16 people works out at £8.92 per person, per night! I wouldn't say that is expensive.

Well you can get good 4 beds for about £900 for two weeks so I would say about £1500 for a 7 bed.

£450 is probably scraping the barrel a bit for a "good" 4 bed, and based on that £2000 is a good deal. By all means go for something cheap, but foreclosures are very prevalent at that market sector.

Everyone has their own opinion I guess... but we have rented some fab places at far better rates than this...I guess it depends on the owners financial position, whether they are in it to make a profit or whether they just want to cover some of the costs of home ownership.
We have owned in the past and know what has to be paid in terms of HOA, Prop Tax, Management, Garden Care, utilities, pool care etc.

While I agree that £2,000 seems pretty reasonable given the number of people that can use it, I also wonder whether, because there are a lot less of them available which means less competition, that has served to keep that price point.
I suppose another way to put it is that 4 bed houses could be cheaper because the competition is far higher. I find it unbelievable that an owner could rent a 4 bed for as little as £450 a week on a sustainable basis, to be honest. (I'm not a villa owner by the way).
