I could just eat that breakfast at GG, delicious. The haul from your leftover credits was good to take with you to the villa.
When are you due to fly home? Hope the hurricane bypasses the area. Fingers crossed 🤞

You did well to only have those credits left over at the end! A good use of them getting ice cream for the offsite stay I think. 😊

The leftover credits worked quite well to get a snack haul to use in the villa! We fly tomorrow at 6pm from Tampa, so it looks like hopefully we are leaving just in time

A couple of days before we would have had a lot more! It is amazing how many we could build up only in a 5 day stay, I dread to think how many it would be if we did 2 weeks!

Mobile Day 10 - Keke’s and Chili’s- Saturday 24th August

We had an early start this morning as we went to the Clermont Parkrun for David and Alex to run. Afterwards we went to Keke’s Breakfast cafe in Clermont, having read about Keke’s on here (there are others in the Orlando area too)

I had a chocolate chip pancake, this was listed on the menu as 3 pancakes but the server advised just having one (and I saw why!). David had apple French toast, the younger two the children’s chocolate chip pancakes and Alex the chocolate chip waffle. The kids got wiki sticks to play with rather than crayons which they had fun with

All the food was lovely. A bit more expensive than Denny’s or IHOP but worth it

Early evening we went to Chili’s which we have visited regularly over our trips to the States. They have a $10 offer including a soft drink, tortilla chips and salsa plus a main from a limited choice. David added guacamole with the chips. I had chicken bacon quesadillas, David had a bacon burger, all the boys had either pepperoni or cheese pizza (which came with a side, Sebastian and Barnaby randomly chose mash, Alex had fries). Photography not my best as I wasn’t feeling great with a bad headache

Great value food at $44 including the charge for the on table tablet games (which is a bit of a curse with a 3 year old unable to take turns!)

Great prices at Chillis, somewhere we’ve never been. The apple cinnamon toast looks great.

Late getting started with your report.
The food at club level in Portofino looks good. Nice that you get proper hot breakfast items - rpr club level was good but didn’t have that.
Got to love Sals pizza - best pizza on property by a mile.

Lots of good disney food. I’m glad you had a positive experience at Storybook, we loved it the first time at Christmas but not so much in the summer.
Polite Pig looks great again, kicking myself for not doing that.
Those snack credits build up even on short trips - Ghiradellis at Disney springs is always the answer to too many snack credits although you look like you did well with your haul.

Kekes looks brilliant, that’s been on my list for about the last 6 trips and we’ve still never done it - next time for definite.

Hope you are having a great time.

Pizzarizzos gets a hard time but I really love those basic Disney pizzas and the overdressed Caesar salad.

Butchers Board at Polite Pigs really does look good, and great value, thanks for the tip about it being on the DDP. I can’t see us making it there this year but one for the future.

Big fan of Garden Grill breakfast, a great choice and glad you managed to get on Soarin’. It must have been sad to leave the Beach Club for the final time.

It is a sobering thought that the tips in Disney cover an entire meal offsite isn’t it!? I try not to get hung up on it as it’s just the nature of the beast. I also agree about struggling to find room and time for snacks in Disney, I have an extensive snack list (longer than the amount of credits we actually have) but I am at a loss as to when we’ll actually be hungry enough to eat them.

Fingers crossed your flight leaves as scheduled and you get home. Thanks for sharing your report with us, really interesting to read about your first time on DDP.

As a summing up of our Disney onsite time, and first time on DDP, we enjoyed it, the highlights were Storybook Dining and Polite Pig, having talked to everyone earlier the only one none of us felt we would go back to was Tony’s, not because it was a bad meal, just not as good as the others and there are other things we would rather try with limited credits. I also wouldn’t rush back to Electric Umbrella

At times the amount of food did feel overwhelming, and there were snacks I wanted to try that we just didn’t have the appetite for at the times we were in the right places. I enjoyed the freedom just to have things in the parks without thinking about costs though, and charging to the magic band!

However, I have to say I found the costs of the meals if we had been paying astonishing. Our table service tips ranged from $30-$50. Some of our offsite meals cost less than some of our onsite tips. We did cover the tips with the gift card.

We would consider a split stay again, if DDP was free, it is likely by the time we do another trip we would have 4 Disney adults plus a child in the family, so table service meals would be crazily expensive for us otherwise.
Totally get this, we are a family of five and we all had the adult plan. Hubby hated paying 50 bucks in tips in time! We even cancelled some meals because of this (he said he was tired but ).
