That looks like a really nice meal, and the courtyard looks beautiful with the lights and everything. Glad you both enjoyed it.

You did soldier on bravely to make it to dessert. Looks like it was a lovely meal. The cocktail looks very...green.

It was so nice. We do like it there.

Desserts have been defeating me so far. Very poor show. Hmmm, there was something just not to my taste with that one. Andy thinks it was Malibu which I am not keen on. They don’t advertise the recipe

Another Broken Egg,Magazine St

I had several plans for food today which didn’t quite materialise.
In the insane heat , Mothers and Willa Jean were just too far to walk from Washington and as we rode past O’Keefe it looked a bit rough to me so not somewhere I really fancied walking Along.

We hopped off the street car at Washington and walked straight down to Magazine St, passing the cemetery and Commanders Palace so two sights already ticked off

Briefly tempted by Ruby Slipper as we walked past but carried on.

Now this is deceiving as the cafe sign is on the top floor so we thought it was up there but after trying several locked doors and avoiding arrest for trying to break entry we were a bit confounded.
Turns out it’s round the corner in the courtyard bottom left unit

Lovely place

I had a strawberry mimosa. Thirsty work this sightseeing

It was a speggtacular choice

I went for the eggcellent Strawberry Pound cake combo

Andy had the eggceedingly good brisket combo

It was a cracking meal

I couldn’t finish all the cake and had some for breakfast the next day.

I did then have coffee

The bill was not eggspensive at all

We waddled off for our tour very eggcited to have eaten here.

All the egg yolks in homage to neilhd. I think his are still the winners

Ooh, I didn’t realise you’d started this. Just caught up and we must have similar tastes in cocktails because they’re looking good to me!

Your food looks absolutely delicious, especially at Orleans Grapevine. That lamb in particular is making my mouth water!

Was that breakfast cake fried like French toast? Fascinating.

Hello. It really was yum. Yes I have had some good cocktails although the next day I did make a dud choice

It was. It was really light cake though, like Madeira.
Very filling

Dat Dog, Frenchmen Street

Our plan is to alternate fine dining and fast food. Yesterday and tomorrow was about the fancy stuff so today was not

Dinner was at Dat Dog.
A really funky hot dog place . Very hipster.

Embrace your bliss indeed

I went for the burger. Thinking it would be a burger. But it’s not

I did briefly think it looked like something that “Dat Dog” at home would leave me on the lawn but it was very nice.
I had it with cheese fries.

Andy went for the Bacon Werewolf

I also had a Blackberry Mule, with Cathead Vodka. It was ok, but weak.

It was a fun place and the food very fresh
