Appeal - Washing cars in winter
People tend to wash their cars in the summer more than in the winter, but I am appealing for people to regularly wash their cars in the winter just as often (or even more in the winter).

Why? I've had my car just over 2 years and haven't washed it once.

Our cars are washed once a week if they have been out of the garage - one of my pet dislikes is a dirty car. If they are taken out and a bird decides to ‘christen’ them or it gets badly mud splashed then it is dealt with when we get home.

Unless it’s freezing weather! Walking on paths that have a lovely personal ice rink at the end of their drive after the car washing makes for a very interesting walk to work. You’d be amazed how many people on our estate do this..I think they take pleasure out of my skating moves 😂

Good idea to wash your car in the winter just to remove all the salt and grit collected when the roads are gritted.

We always do. I cannot stand dirty cars. We always make sure the lights and number plates are clean. I am worrying about one of our cars, it's going to be at the main dealers for 5 weeks waiting for a part - hope they clean it properly.

My husband used to wash his car every other week regardless if it was summer or winter. It usually looked like it needed washing by then.
At our old house the route to the drain went past the back of our neighbours drive, I used to worry the water trail would freeze and our neighbour would slip so I used to put salt on it. Now he is Working from home the car is not coming out, so been washed once since March. Me, I wash my car twice a year, it just seems to reach a point it self cleans. Never looks dirty, number plate always readable. I check lights often though |
