Films you think you enjoy but get bored before the end

Are there films you think you love/enjoy/get excited bat but cant watch until the end ?

2 for me -

Titanic, I love the score and when it comes on TV i sit down to rewatch for hundredth time and love the first hour or so then from middle onwards cant wait for it to end as bored

LaLa Land - worth out doubt one of the very opening scenes and I adore the scenery and cinematography throughout as it reminds my of LA and California in more ways than any other film. I have it recorded on my hardrive and when I want a pick me up I start it but cant remember the last time I saw the end - that part didnt work for me and I find it dull and sad so never get that far before I yawn and switch off.

Am I alone in feeling and doing this ?

Do you have films (or indeed TV shows) that this happens to you ?

Can’t think of one, but LaLaLand was such a disappointment, after all the hype, I watched it and just didn’t get it, thought it was a great pile of 💩💩 definitely 2 hours I’ll never get back!

In general terms, our attention span currently is very short.

I have lost count of the films and documentaries that we have given up on., in fact we often have the TV off, even though we have so many shows and films from various providers that we could be tuning into.

Given up on News and Daily reports and updates too. Currently watching Heartbeat, which reflects happier simpler times.

Glad I am not alone. My attention span has never been great and I bore easily but some films I try and watch as I love the start then find myself folding laundry or dibbing etc so switch off. I have found myself watching old TV stuff too and that I follow through

This is us too.. We view the “much hyped” stuff and it’s usually off within fifteen minutes. We find that newer stuff seems to be. Dark, or sex or both with no actual storylines... maybe we are just old farts. We do watch Scandinavian subtitled stuff as they seem to be written well and TBH the actors are superior.

However at the moment together we are watching house of cards, The marvellous Mrs Maisle and when I’m in bed I’m watching the inspector Linley mystery’s and endeavour, as you say simpler easier times. I’ll check our heartbeat again when I run out of these,

I am finding Murder she Wrote and Midsomer Murders entertaining again . Although I hate violence in TV/films these 2 only really suggest it and are easy to re-watch

I think this is it actually. Nothing seems to be “ suggested” anymore. Sex is explicit, like we don’t know what happens often gratuitous and adds nothing to the storyline, violence is graphics. Don’t get me wrong I’m not bothered about sex or violence on TV if it’s in the context.
I’m unsure what is now deemed as family viewing seeing as my kids are in the thirties.

DH is forever saying but you wanted to watch this when I get bored and go off and do something else
As for adverts drive me nuts so I watch things on record or catch up at least US adverts can be funny
I’ve started to watch Hettie Wainthrop etc again and Wycliffe never watched first time round so that’s next

I start to watch a lot of films then guess what happens and have to google it to see if I'm right. Then there's no point watching the rest. I'm easily bored but I love when you find something that captures your attention and holds it, there have been some movies that I've found that with but usually for me it's a book. I enjoy rewatching Dr Who from Eccleston onwards (never seen any of the earlier) but usually get bored after Matt Smith. Anyway, that's way off point.
