Is there still a CM minder type person that will take your own photo?
Can someone in your party take pics of your kiddies?
That’s in addition to the box auto thing?

(*What would be the upper amount that you would consider acceptable? Or is there no upper limit?)
I think I'd be willing to pay a bit more. I've been a few times and had pictures so could take it or leave it, but if it was my first time and particularly if I was there with my child I'd prefer a photographer as the machine won't wait for them to stand still!

I was jokingly commenting on Magic Mouse's post saying, "you really can’t put a price on the personal touch". You can. There is a price where people won't pay for the personal touch, whether it's $50 a photo or $5000 a photo.

So, how much is "a bit more"? Would you pay $50 extra if the photos at a meet'n'greet location were taken by an actual Photopass photographer rather than an automated camera? If not $50, then how much?

The weird thing is, I suspect this is the sort of information Disney would be interested in. If they knew they could charge an extra $10* per meet'n'greet location for the photos to be taken by an actual photographer then I'm sure they would consider implementing this idea.

(* or whatever price is deemed "acceptable")

Maybe the amount people were actually paying before they included Memory Maker free for UK tickets (we used to pay before).

Did they really include memory maker for free?

Memory maker got thrown in when the ticket price rose a ridiculous amount from one year to the next if I remember correctly.

Around 4 years ago?

The price rise was mostly due to the collapse in the exchange rate at that time as I recall, memory maker was theoretically replacement for DisneyQuest.

I didn’t mind at the time, was still comparable to buying US tickets and memory maker made any difference worth it. It is so much easier if you are doing lots of meets (inevitable with two little girls!) and takes any hassle out of having to take a proper SLR for good shots.

For me, these changes are awful and I am hoping Disney see sense and reverse this one. Memory maker has no value to me if I have to take my own shots again. Photo boxes simply can’t replace photographers, am astounded by this one.

We had for first time meeting tinkerbell this year and it was awful experience, girls didn’t understand it at all, completely ruined the meet randomly trying to smile at a box, loses all spontaneity, and the resultant photos were awful. Such a disappointment from start to finish.

Which means I will have to take my own SLR and play photographer the whole holiday instead, which is the whole benefit of the thing in the first place.

So I signed the petition, I am not normally bothered as things change, but this is a really poor development. As I say, hope they reverse it and bring back the photographers everywhere.

I can’t think of anything worse in terms of changes they’ve made. No way will a box do what a human being with a camera can do.
