Are Magic Breaks safte to book with?

I am pricing up a 4/5 night break after Christmas, and Magic Breaks is coming up the cheapest currently, but I always thought they were part of Thomas Cook? I was actually surprised when their website worked.

I take it that part of the company are all ok?

It's all good. The payment system is being updated now, should be available next week. I believe their ABTA certificate may have been affiliated with Thomas Cook as now Disneyland Paris issue them for them.

I have a booking with them, and this is the info they've supplied.

Xx

They are independent from Thomas Cook so not affected by this in any way. However, personally, i think if there's very little difference in price then I would probably now always choose to book direct with DLP for extra peace of mind.

Separate from Thomas Cook, we used them in May and are booked with them for December too. Very happy with the service and no concerns.

I thought they had been affected? I’ve seen lots of people saying they booked with Magic Breaks, but Magic Breaks couldn’t access their details following the collapse of TC. I believe they were separate companies, but that Magic Breaks purchased services from TC (presumably including their record system and payments.) I think it’s all getting sorted out and Magic Breaks are getting back access to their own records, but it definitely sounds like they were affected in some ways. Hopefully it can be sorted before any holidays are lost.

Going forward, once they’ve got access to their records and payment system (which may have already happened, I’m only going by what I’ve read from their customers) there shouldn’t be any problem with booking with them.

As Happy Panda said, though, I always feel more confident about booking directly with DLP. For us, Magic Breaks have never been able to offer a better price than we can get direct anyway (although that sometimes means using another country’s DLP site.)

Magic Breaks had a 'small affiliation' with Thomas Cook. They say as TC had been around so long, many agents did. They've had to change ATOL and ABTA certificate holders, and the payment system is suspended. I spoke to someone on live chat yesterday and they said the payment system will be back up and running next week, as far as they've been told. X
